Monte-Carlo – The IAAF Evaluation Commission which will carry out the evaluation of the bids of London (GBR) and Doha (QAT) to host the 2017 IAAF World Championships has been formed and their programme decided.

Spectacular conclusion to 2011 Diamond Race in Brussels – Samsung Diamond League, FINAL

Brussels, Belgium - The 2011 Samsung Diamond League came to spectacular conclusion tonight (Fri 16) in the second of two series Finals which took place at the Belgacom Memorial Van Damme in Brussels’ King Baudouin stadium.

The first 2011 Final took place at the Weltklasse Zürich meeting on Thursday 8 September.

So far the quickest sprint of the year is still held by Bolt’s fellow Jamaican Asafa Powell (9.78).

The Closing Ceremony at Daegu Stadium for the IAAF World Championships Daegu 2011


Final day of action at the IAAF World Championships Daegu 2011. 

The final day of action begins with the endurance of the men's Marathon and concludes with the 4x100 Relays. 

After the last evening session has been completed, the closing ceremony will start at 9:10 p.m.

Daegu, Korea - And the most popular press conference of the week goes to – Usain Bolt. In fact, he is the most popular athlete of the week if the reaction of the Korean crowd is anything to go by.

It was all so reminiscent of how Tokyo greeted Carl Lewis exactly 20 years ago, the same ripples of excitement every time he appeared on the track or even simply on the television screens in shots from the warm-up track or call room.

Daegu, Korea - On the day Usain Bolt returned to the track in the 200 m heat and the semi final Jamaica’s women took their first sprint gold medal in these championships. It was Veronica Campbell-Brown who won the 200m in 22.22.

2 September 2011 - Daegu, Korea - There has been no dancing from Usain Bolt so far in Daegu. But on Thursday night an unexpected deputy emerged on the blue track of the stadium: Ezekiel Kemboi surprised the spectators with a dance similar to the ones that Bolt uses to show. The Kenyan had just taken the World Steeplechase gold medal with a bursting sprint in the final 200 metres. The 29 year-old defended his title from Berlin 2009.
